I've been having so much fun getting to know my new city and neighborhood. This has also been a time of reminiscing and new discoveries! My musings in each blog is very much about lifestyle choices, creating art and design in your life when it is possible. I am sharing some photos that were taken recently to reflect the countless possibilities that pave the way to experience your life in a more passionate way! You don't have to be a designer or artist. It's really about doing the things and being around the people you enjoy!
One of the first places I had to find and visit was the Museum of Art-Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It's at the center of the cultural hub in this downtown area. My love for art runs through my veins! So this was a very important connection. I attended the gallery opening for "Against The Grain." The exhibit featured installations, sculptures, furniture and objects by leading artists and designers. This was an exploration of the most cutting-edge conceptual and technical trends in woodworking today. I wasn't able to photograph the actual exhibit but here is an example of one of the works.

I managed to take a snapshot of the visiting curator from the Museum of Art and Design in New York, Lowery Stokes Sims. I attended her talk before the gala opening and she was engaging and thought provoking through her presentation!

| Reception Gathering Been spending most of my free time by the beach in downtown Fort Lauderdale and the Las Olas communities. When I lived in Minneapolis,Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes,I was fortunate enough to live near the water. However, could only enjoy a few months out of each year because of the long winters and short summers. Spring and Fall were rare!
